Be The Change
This documentary film series focusing on Ecological / Social Justice issues is held once a month at the Gayety Theater in Collingwood Ontario on the third Wednesday of the month, from October to May. Presented by Investors Group, ‘Be The Change’ is meant to spark discussion amongst members of our community about the important issues facing us all. Each week after the film a guest speaker will hold interactive discussions in the theatre after the film is screened.
Admission – $7.00, Students – Free. Books of “Series Tickets” also available for $40 at Elephant Thoughts, The Environment Network, The Collingwood Public Library and Smart’s Flowers.

Our organization functions as a hub for individuals and groups who are practitioners and fans of the written word or active in the writing industry. Our aim is to nurture and encourage writers at all levels and of all genres, independently and in co-operation with existing cultural and writing-related organizations, associations, libraries and community groups.

Nottawasaga Futures is a community economic development agency serving the South Simcoe Area.
Our organization has been successfully engaged in 78 community projects with 103 community partners in the last ten years. We are fortunate to have 10 active board members who are all successful business persons with a commitment to community development.
Our Green Economy Centre will help your business go green with saving money. We provide funding opportunities and resources to help you discover why going green is good business.
Presently, we participate or lead in 17 community projects and provide on-going support to six community organizations. We partner with all levels of government including: Township of Adjala-Tosorontio; Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury; Township of Essa; Town of Innisfil; Town of New Tecumseth; Industry Canada, International Trade Canada, Barrie Canada Service Centre; Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food and Rural Affiars; Ministry of Economic Development and Trade; Ministry of Education & Training; Ministry of Tourism; and Ministry of Energy, Science, and Technology.

The Simcoe County Branch is part of Region V of the Ontario Genealogical Society. Our branch was started in 1983 and currently has nearly 500 members. We are located in Central Ontario, just north of Toronto. Simcoe County is the largest county in Ontario.
Our mission statement says, we are “encouraging, bringing together and assisting those interested in the pursuit of genealogy and family history in Simcoe County”. Our members focus on preserving information that will be useful for anyone doing research on ancestors from Simcoe County. We also provide a sound base for researchers living here who have ancestors in other areas around the world.

The S.C.H.A. is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to the preservation, appreciation, and dissemination of the history and heritage of Simcoe County.
Originally organized in 1891 as The Simcoe County Pioneer and Historical Society, we have undergone several name changes. In 1971, we reorganized to become Simcoe County Historical Association. We have always operated under the Charter of the Ontario Historical Society.
Our present activities include open public meetings where information about current activities of the Historical Societies is shared and the efforts of learned speakers are enjoyed.
We have erected many Historic Plaques to commemorate events and locations. We have reprinted certain valuable but out-of-print publications.
We hope to assist by fund matching a variety of worthy projects initiated by other local Historical Societies. We seek particularly to assist in all ways the many Historical Societies in our County who are so actively furthering the causes of their own local history.
