| Description | The Extended French as a Second Language (EFSL) program, which has been in existence in Simcoe County District School Board since 1989, is a program that begins in Grade 5. Admission to the Extended French as a Second Language program is based on a first-come, first-served basis. A minimum of 24 students is required to initate a Grade 5 class. |

The SCDSB produces a variety of publications for students, parents and the community. Sharing Simcoe is our system-wide staff newsletter that highlights good news stories about our staff, students and our schools. The newsletter is published several times annually, and is distributed to our schools and learning centres. Other publications include special education, accessibility, kindergarten and school programs, safety, and energy conservation. -

External Research
The Board is prepared to support educational research; however, we are also mindful that the students have been entrusted to our schools for their personal education. Educational research must not be done at the expense of students' academic programs. -
