  • Del Crake - Ward 2 Candidates - Bradford Times - Ontario, CA
Two years ago, Councillor Del Crake decided he would not seek re-election; 3 terms in office were enough.

But situations change. "Whether it's me running alone, or someone else, I don't think it's fair for anyone to get in by acclamation,"says the retired OPP officer.

Crake is running for Councillor in Ward 2 - and despite his initial reluctance, he sees plenty of issues on the table, and exciting times ahead for the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.
  • Meade Helman for Ward 4
My wife and I have lived in Canada for over 20 years, we moved here from the U.S., and have lived in Bond Head 12 years. Last February we took the oath to be Canadian Citizens. It was a very moving experience.

I think it was the worst day of the winter, lots of snow that wasn't getting cleared, very cold and ice everywhere. Despite this, 78 of 80 people scheduled to take the oath that day were there, and on time! They were from thirty different countries; all taking an oath to make Canada their home. Some of them had tears in their eyes as they took the oath and sang O Canada!

After the swearing in and the anthem, the judge who administered the oath told us how Canada had grown and became a great place to live because people helped each other. He told us that, as new Canadians, we should find ways to help others and contribute to our communities.

After much thought and reflection, and no small amount of urging from my wife, I decided to see if I can contribute to the town I live in, by serving on Council.

  • Elect Raj Sandhu
Raj is dedicated to Ward 1, and working hard to improve our community.

Raj understands the struggles working parents face to raise their families.

Raj recognizes the needs of small business owners and knows what employers look for to invest in towns such as ours.

It’s time to put someone on Council who will stand up for Bradford, not the developers. On October 25, 2010, vote for Raj Sandhu, he’s on your side!
